Job Description
£30,000 - £42,000 + car or car allowance (senior PT level only) + bonus up to 20% + share scheme + pension + life assurance + private healthcare
JOB PURPOSE
To deliver continuously improving performance against packaging brand standards, quality, cost, innovation and implementation of packaging within business units.
• Establish detailed project plans, targets and messages by category area.
Measure Plans visible, agreed with relevant parties and underway.
• Delivery of progress against agreed targets towards CR report and packaging
brand standards.
Measure Current vs actual measures.
• Establish and deliver innovation projects for business unit within overall
business context.

OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Packaging Brand Standards
• Work with all relevant teams to further develop ackaging brand standards at a product and category level.
• Creation of complete product and category project plans, including measures
against packaging brand standards.
• Work with relevant teams to drive, support and facilitate the delivery of projects
and change towards the ongoing implementation of packaging brand standards.
• As part of the packaging team, delivery of work to increase packaging
knowledge and knowledge / understanding / interpretation of packaging brand
standards both internally and externally.
• Support and contribute to the ongoing development of packaging policy.
Innovation
• Work closely with all relevant teams to identify wants and needs across categories and business units meeting customer and business goals.
• Work with teams to deliver cost effective packaging developments, agreeing budgets and milestones through established channels.
• Drive 1st to market packaging innovation through supplier/industry/joint ventures and strategic alliances.
• Work with legal and trading teams to protect first to market positioning through Intellectual Property, legal patents etc…
• Build connections and networks within all aspects of the packaging industry to develop opportunities, which are not obvious to others and ensure the business stays at the leading edge in all areas of packaging.
• Forge relationships with supply base to support joint ventures and ensure by excellence in implementation that our client is the ‘first choice’ retailer for their packaging initiatives.
Quality
• Work with the category teams and product suppliers to ensure packaging quality management is well understood and implemented through the gated process and beyond.
• Ensure that the commercial aspects of all packaging components are well understood, ensuring our teams are well informed and can therefore negotiate costs effectively.
• Work with relevant teams and suppliers to drive the quality and implementation of SRP.
• Drive the appropriate use of print, packaging and transit trials.
Communication
• Provide appropriate and timely updates on the packaging agenda / programme.
• Work with appropriate teams to supply accurate feedback on performance against business packaging targets to both internal and external stakeholders
