Due to maternity cover, Chivas Brothers has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Packaging Technologist to work on a contract basis from their manufacturing operation in Dumbarton.
Reporting to the Packaging Development & Design Manager, your role will be to develop marketing concepts to components that meet criteria for design, cost, quality and manufacturing specifications.
Key Responsibilities
To specifically identify and develop suitable dry goods components and suppliers by project, monitoring commercially and technically
To provide project management to ensure appropriate project control systems are effectively functioning
Maintain CPA data on all key NPD projects
Maintain cycle time analysis process for all components
Provide business support for customer complaints
Provide business support for anti-counterfeit verification
Develop and maintain on-going system to ensure compliance with IS9001/2000 in respect to design and development activities
Provide competent and stretched technical design service for NPD activities and rationalisation of components
Maintain accuracy and reproduction techniques of all input material
Develop, maintain and operate physical laboratory testing, using current methods and introducing improvements
Key Skills & Experience Required
Essential
Technical background with at least 5-10 years experience in a progressive manufacturing/commercial environment
Educated to Degree Standard or Industry equivalent
Experience and understanding of measurement and specification setting of component materials
Hard statistical data evaluation knowledge
Experience of packaging methods, materials, design, reprographics, regulations and manufacture
Desirable
Broad cross-functional experience in a technical supply, manufacturing, design and marketing functions
Team working skills
Ability to communicate across all levels.
