Job Description

Our client, a major player in their market sector, seek a high calibre Planning Manager.

Main Purpose of Position

To plan and control all aspects of Production in liaison with the Client Services Manager and Commercial Manager.

Plan production of all on-site jobs ensuring optimum use of internal labour & machine resources to meet client’s deadlines.

Ensure working methods deliver business growth to our client, which are met through highly efficient and productive working practices ensuring we meet customers needs to deliver on time


Key Accountabilities

Planning

To plan and control the timing and quality of all work Deliveries, Logistic and Despatch Departments.

Control utilisation of people and machinery to reduce downtime and maintain maximum utilisation of available machine times.

Organise and operate a planned approach to production to meet required deadlines whilst operating to a strict budget at the required quality standard.

Chair Production meetings & produce production and delivery schedules accordingly.

Process through to Commercial requests for materials to meet production’s JIT deadlines, liaise with Commercial regarding the call off of orders.

Observe measures of Right First Time (RFT). Plan and execute continuous improvement with the goal of achieving Right First Time Every Time (RFTET). This includes liaison with other Supervisors and Managers

Check the planning board regularly to ensure that work is progressing as planned. Liaise with Production Department heads and ensure any issues are reported to the Client Service team.

Ensure that all departments have accurate information in good time to ensure the smooth running of work through departments.

Organise and operate a planned approach to logistics procedures so that capacity can best match demand at the right quality and efficiency levels

Assist in the identification of best working practices and ensure that such practices are implemented so as to yield the most cost effective Logistic processes and constantly reviewed to improve efficiency.

Monitor customer, company and departmental requirements on an ongoing basis and operate the methods best suited to satisfy those requirements.

In conjunction with the Commercial Manager undertake specific projects designed to improve the business.
