Based within a dynamic R&D Packaging group. The group’s responsibilities cover all beverage packaging development and innovation within the EU and EMEA regions.
The group itself also links closely with the US & European teams &is responsible for all long term packaging innovation.
JOB PRIORITIES
- Manage individual projects
- Liaise with, and drive suppliers in order to generate best in class solutions
- Plan, organise and execute packaging trials
- Support packaging cost reduction programs
- Generate and approve revised material specifications based on trial worked completed
- Investigate and resolve factory based packaging material issues within European factories
- Interface with key contacts within Product R&D, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain
- Participate in other packaging related initiatives as required.
- Keep up to date with packaging developments within the industry.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Degree in relevant packaging or scientific area. The successful candidate will also ideally be able to demonstrate relevant work experience in a related field.
Indication of industrial/technical competence and formal training is essential.
Practical experience and knowledge of a range of packaging materials, processes and manufacturing methods is desirable. Specific flexible material knowledge would be welcome.
Demonstrable project management skills are essential, together with the ability to operate in a complex, multi national environment. A logical, rigorous and scientific approach to problem solving is also essential.
European language skills would be advantageous but not essential, as English is the business language.
Effective communication skills and maturity is essential. The successful candidate must be able to communicate complex technical matters in a succinct and clear way to both technical and non technical people in both written and verbal forms.
