Job Description

Job title: Sales Manager
Remuneration: £25-28,000 (depending on experience) plus a bonus (TBC)
Location: Midlands / Leicestershire area

Our client requires a Sales Manager to work in a corrugated sheet plant in Leicestershire. As a member of the management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading a top class field sales force across the packaging region.
A commercially focused people manager, you will draw on your experience of driving high performing teams to really make your mark in this business.


The Company

Main responsibilities include:

• Worl with the internal sales team to manage £2m of existing business.
• Build a high performing regional sales team.
• Play a key role in delivering the Packaging Business plan whilst providing input into the wider packaging market strategy.
• Provide excellent leadership: coaching, motivating and managing a top class sales force.
• Identifying and implementing appropriate sales targets, rewards and incentive packages for all members of the sales force.
• Carry out competitor analysis to aid product development and sales targeting.
• Develop profitable new business in line with the Company strategy.

The Person Profile for Sales Manager:

The key experience and knowledge requirements for the role:
• Corrugated packaging knowledge and experience (essential).
• A proven track record of developing and winning new business (and ideally bring some new business with you) (essential).
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience of operating in a sales management role (ideal).
• Motivating and coaching of sales staff.
• An understanding & appreciation of financial performance measurements and of how to make things happen in a corporate environment.

• Excellent management skills.
• Strong influencing / negotiating skills.
• Good organisational and IT skills.
• Innovation & individuality with the ability to think creatively to seek win-win solutions.
• Good communication skills and a committed team player.
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to get hands dirty (including working outside of standard hours if necessary).
