We currently have a vacancy for Project Manager to join our team at out Head Office in Leeds.
Arla foods are to invest in the world’s largest fresh milk dairy and will build a new 1 billion litre liquid milk processing facility on the outskirts of London.
The new facility will be the largest and most technologically advanced of its kind in the world and creates a platform for Arla to grow its fresh milk business.
It is the intention that it will be the worlds most efficient milk processing facility with world class environmental credentials and will be operational in 2012 incorporating the most sustainable building techniques and will take dairy processing into the next generation.
As part of the exciting development plans in Consumer UK, we have the opportunity for a Project Manager biased towards packaging technology and innovation. The successful candidate will develop, plan and deliver projects supporting the overall company strategy, to specification, on time and to budget.
Outline of responsibilities
Deliver assigned projects to specification, on time and to budget
Support portfolio management by identifying project opportunities
Ensure professionalism by following the agreed project methodology, standards and procedures
Involve key stakeholders in all phases of the projects
Support proper asset management and investment accounting
Contract and Health and safety responsibility
Manage, lead, coach and develop project team member
Scope of Role
Define the most suitable next generation packaging for fresh milk for the future dairy.
Engage with key packaging suppliers to assess the merits of different offerings
Bottle, (HPDE, PET or other), Carton, Pouch or Other.
Engage with key filling suppliers to assess the best filling solution considering different packaging solutions.
Engage with external organisations to assess the different options.
Engage with internal Arla colleagues and conduct workshops to review past work and develop future requirements.
Engage with retailers throughout this process.
Assess packaging and filling options and benchmark key requirements considering
Innovations/ functionality
Environment
Performance
Quality – shelf life etc
Design - dairy footprint effect
Customer and consumer
Define and agree packaging and filling specification for new solution including design and footprint.
Recommend next generation packaging solution for the new dairy together with filling solution considering an outline cost and clear time line.
Assess the impact of converting the current dairy sites to the new solution considering cost and time.
Ensure that the project is completed using project management methodology on time in full.
As part of a team ensure that the new solution or existing solution is tendered using Arla foods 9 step sourcing process engaging with suppliers, internal colleagues and external customers and consumers.
The successful candidate will have
Substantial experience as a Project Manager
Experience of having managed a Project team
Substantial experience in a senior packaging development and implementation role.
