Job Description

Our client is a leading supplier of corrugated packaging products with multiple sites throughout the Uk & Europe. They are currently looking to recruit a Quality Technician for their site in the North East.

Reporting to the Quality Manager the main purpose of the role is....

* To maintain and develop the company quality standards and procedures, ensuring they meet the requirements of the BSI and satisfy the business demands.

* Maintain and develop systems and schedules to ensure the company is compliant to Health & Safety / Environmental legislation and any relevant certification.

* To maintain a technical system in line with the requirements of the BRC / IOP
& AIB standard

The main duties of the role are....

* Control the customer complaint system and generate weekly and monthly reports.
* Co-ordinate the audit programmes for ISO / BRC / Health & Safety / Environmental matters.
* Personally undertakes audits and write new procedures.
* Train employees in ISO / BRC / Health & Safety / Environmental procedures.
* Undertake supplier audits.
* Liase with customers on quality issues and complete customer questionnaires.
* Assist with customer audits.
* Undertake laboratory tests and liases with Group Central Lab.
* Complete audits/Risk Assessments and SSOW internal/external.
* Calibrate testing equipment.
* Collects / collates & generates reports from quality test data
* Co-ordinate the pest control system.
* Co-ordinate material disposal system
* Product / Material inspection
* Compilation and inputting of Top 10 data and daily corrugator figures
* Q pulse administration
* Data collection, reporting & presenting

Skills, Knowledge & Experience required for the role....

* Educated to 'A' Level/HNC standard preferably with a Quality qualification.
* 3 years experience in a quality environment.
* Good communications skills.
* Computer literate.
* Experienced in maintenance of procedural based systems.
* Accustomed to working with complex standards.
* Ability to influence others to achieve consistency.
* Creative thought to assist problem solving

Must also be able to prioritise workload & priorities, be pro-active in continuous improvement & be able to motivate and coordinate teams in quality solutions

The Package...
You will receive a basic salary of between £25kpa to £30kpa depending on level of experience, 25 days holiday and the option to join their contributory pensions scheme after qualifying period.
