Job Description
Job Title Warehouse Manager
Main purpose of the role
To strategically manage the warehouse and logistics operations of client.
Demonstrate strong leadership through the management of staff, ensuring all daily operations run efficiently and high service levels are maintained at all times. Oversee the efficient receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of a wide range of goods.
Main Duties
Planning, administration and general management of the department, which will include the day to day supervision of all warehousing staff.
Overseeing work with a ‘hands on’ approach.
Plan the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organise special requirements for certain stock, such as secure or fragile goods.
Ensure productivity targets are met and maintain administration and automated storage and retrieval systems.
Manage the implementation of all warehouse projects, policies and procedures.
Build strong relationships and develop good communication links with the management team to ensure distribution and logistics are operating to deadlines.
Manage staff resources, employee development and performance levels in line with the needs of the business.
Monitor and maintain control of all general stock and movement of goods.
Ensure accuracy in all paperwork and delivery quantities, and deal effectively and efficiently with queries and correspondence.
Producing regular reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Ensure workplace Health and Safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the warehouse and stock.
Ensure all staff are aware of, and follow, warehouse Health and Safety procedures.
Overseeing the planned maintenance of departmental vehicles, machinery and equipment.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as and when required.
Key skills
Background in distribution warehousing an advantage, along with a solid history of logistics experience.
Previous experience with people management and service delivery.
A positive attitude and a proactive approach to solving problems.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Team player.
A level of flexibility.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, particularly spreadsheet applications.
Effective under pressure and able to consistently deliver.
Candidates must have a valid FLT license.
