Job Description

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a hands on role working as part of the NPD Team, being accountable for the development of packaging concepts for all products through

• The thorough development of new packaging concepts to meet brief and target costs
• Thorough testing to ensure the packaging is fit for purpose through all distribution channels
• Understanding the production / logistics requirements for the packaging
• Ensure the packaging developed is efficient for manufacturing and production teams and support any in production issue.
• Conduct online delivery / transit trials and deliver solutions for fragile / non-standard products with the support of the production teams.
• Ensure all packaging components comply with relevant regulations and are fit for purpose
• Propose and develop innovative solutions for packaging problems of both new and existing product concepts and in line with range strategy.
• Work on a pipeline of new packaging ideas and techniques to feed into NPD for all brands.
• Work with Design on suitability of print finishes and flag any issues with quality / durability
• Issue component specifications to suppliers to ensure delivery of goods match expectations.
• Keep up to date on new technical developments in the packaging industry and share with the wider team.
• Support Supplier Audits from a technical delivery point of view

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma Member of Institute of Packaging
Experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
IT literate – Word & Excel
