Job Description

Vacancy for a Senior Packaging Technologist to join driven team to develop innovative and cost effective packaging solutions that are fit for purpose and meet current legislative requirements in order to deliver new product development plan.

Create and source constructional and decorative concepts in response to NPD briefs / to deliver packaging innovation to the business and meeting current legislation.

Use technical knowledge & experience to design and develop packaging components to maximise supply chain efficiencies.

Manage the new packaging critical path by driving departments & external suppliers to deadlines to ensure NPD projects are delivered on time and in full.

Negotiate new component prices with external packaging suppliers using technical specification knowledge to ensure best price and continuity of supply.

Evaluate and conduct appropriate technical testing of new packaging components acting on the results as appropriate to ensure components are fit for purpose.

Set technical standards for all new packaging components to ensure quality levels are clearly defined internally and externally.

Identify and implement technical cost reduction opportunities to benefit purchasing and factory spend.

Accurate data entry to company databases / systems to ensure successful procurement & manufacture of finished goods.

Work alongside the purchasing team to drive supplier benefits.
