Job Description
A great opportunity to join a market leading company.
The successful candidate must have the ability to perform the following key role responsibilities
•Carry out installation and service work in accordance with the company guide lines and procedures with consideration to the budgeted costs in any country to which machines are supplied.
•Overseas travel of approximately 26 weeks per year will be required.
•On time submission of service report sheets and expenses.
•Whilst based within the factory provide telephone/internet support from the service desk.
•To work with the production team to complete pre delivery inspection of new machines and factory testing of new developments.
•Work with others within the Department to create a positive team work environment.
•To assist in the design, development and maintenance of the electrical systems utilised in JM Heaford equipment, with a focus on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.
•To assist in the development, testing, debugging and maintenance of efficient software solutions to meet individual customer needs.
•Tasks would include analysing user requirements to develop specifications producing technical specifications and drawings working to British and European standards developing and writing software programs modification and enhancement of existing programs comprehensively testing programs and resolving faults conducting development, testing, analysing results and proposing modifications and preparing product / software documentation when required.
•Participate in training on all Heaford and GMS machines.
•Create or update machine manuals as necessary.
•Assist in the training and development of other employees whom occasionally carry out service and installation Work.
•Assist with demonstrations at exhibitions when required.
•Assist in dealing with routine requests for spare parts, proposals etc. when required.
•Following customer site visits supply the Sales Department with up to date information on customer contacts, plans, current equipment (competitors) and future requirements. Where ever possible bring back proof and production samples, illustrating the customers print standards, and the effectiveness of our machines.
•Assist in the promotion of the company’s products and support members of the Sales Department.
Attributes required include
•HND or degree level Electrical/Electronics/Software qualification.
•Experience with electro-pneumatic equipment, PLC driven multi axis servo systems, AC and DC motors.
•Competent in the use of Siemens S7 PLC and HMI software with the ability to fault find and implement changes.
•Siemens and Bosch Rexroth servo drive experience required.
•The ability to work on electro-mechanical systems, with an understanding of mechanical principles.
•The applicant ideally would have experience in rotating machinery installation and service.
•Spoken and written languages, in addition to English, would be a distinct advantage.
•The applicant must have had prior experience of extensive overseas travel.
•The applicant will need to be methodical in his approach to problem solving, work of own initiative, self motivated and a decision maker.
•Experience of the flexo and/or gravure printing industries is preferable.
•Experience of JM Heaford products would be an advantage, but not essential.
