Packaging Category Manager
Based at the new central head office in Stockholm, Sweden of this leading Cosmetics, Fragrance & Skincare brand.
Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for all technical packaging/NPD activities within the product category. Additionally will be responsible for maintaining and improving all existing category product ranges through agreed value engineering and re-sourcing initiatives.
The job holder will be responsible for the technical management and development of 2 Packaging Technologists, assigning relevant projects, monitoring and reporting progress and defining on-going technical development opportunities
The job holder will manage the following tasks relating to the development of packaging and products in their assigned product category
???Project Management of specific packaging development projects Lead project activities such as planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting the status of projects from initiation to final delivery within multifunctional teams for the development of new products (Marketing, R&D, Plant, Sourcing)
???Coordination of feasibility studies on Marketing design proposalsin conjunction with internal and external development partners, e.g. Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution & agreed supplier partners.
???Approval of all relevant technical component drawings.
???Coordination, approval and reporting of all necessary packaging/product component testing, via the Product Testing and Scale-up team within our Global Technical Centre.
???Coordination, approval and reporting of all necessary filling line and transit trials.
???Creation and maintenance of all category packaging specifications.
???Technical approval of all finished components.
???Coordination of packaging artworks and origination proof approvals necessary to complete the development of their brand or product packaging.
???Be the technical interface with suppliers
???Keep up to date with developments in all aspects of packaging technology
Management and resolution of all packaging related non-conformances relevant to their category.
???Actively participate in the identification and successful development of innovative and/or value engineered packaging solutions for use by own and other categories.
The job holder will be an integral member of the core New Product Development Team
The job holder should have a minimum of 5 years experience as a packaging developer in an appropriate New Product Development environment supported by a degree (engineering or scientific) with a specialisation in packaging
