Job Description

JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager, Print Sales

PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to dramatically grow sales of printed material materials including marketing materials, mailing products and secure vouchers to the UK’s leading FMCG brand manufacturers most of whom are our existing clients.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES & OBJECTIVES

  • Drive new print sales revenues from existing services and develop new propositions where it makes sense.

  • Prepare Sales Action plans and strategies.

  • Generate and qualify leads.

  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and proposals.

  • Negotiate and close sales with clients.

  • Prepare sales contracts and see through to completion. Maintain sales activity records and sales reports via Salesforce.

  • Monitor print market including market conditions, competition and innovations.

  • Keep up to date with industry trends and FMCG activity.

  • Drive Personal Development Plan and actions to deliver on going professional expertise improvement, market awareness and improved effectiveness.

  • Build a positive team environment by delivery of personal goals, targets and objectives, ensuring performance compiles with Valassis standards.

  • Assist in other related activities as requested from time to time by the company.

REPORTING

  • This role reports to the Sales Director.

        Essential:

  • Proven ability to network through a client organisation

  • Proven ability to sell print

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivated

  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with proven ability to organise own schedule and priorities

  • Extensive experience of and contacts in UK print industry

  • Successful and proven print sales track-record

  • Computer/PC Skills

Full Driving license
