External Sales Manager - South West

Job Description

The Company:

  • An opportunity has arisen to join a growing business who supply recyclable New & Used Plastic Boxes, Plastic Containers & Plastic Trays to a wide range of industries, including Food processors and Food manufacturers.

Job Title:

  • External Sales Manager

Territory:

  • South West and the Welsh Boarders
  • Home set-up

Purpose of the Role:

  • To deliver agreed sales targets, revenues and drive the company’s growth strategy.  Current T/O for this area is £450k and you would be expected to achieve a new business target of £250k in your first year.

Key Responsibilities:

To deliver agreed sales revenue targets, including: -

  • Working with the MD on Key objectives, targets and KPI setting
  • Monitoring company performance - e.g. Customer Service, OTIF etc., taking actions to rectify any shortfalls and providing feedback to the Site
  • To support the account management of major accounts from both an account management and new/additional business generation perspective

To deliver agreed sales revenue targets, including: -

  • Working with the MD on Key objectives, targets and KPI setting
  • Monitoring company performance - e.g. Customer Service, OTIF etc., taking actions to rectify any shortfalls and providing feedback to the Site
  • To support the account management of major accounts from both an account management and new/additional business generation perspective
  • Taking the lead in larger new business activity which will include face to face presentations, tenders, quotations and contract negotiations
  • In partnership with the marketing team, identify and develop actions to support market awareness, prospects and sales to drive the company’s growth strategy and increase revenues and profitability
  • Work with the sales team to implement actions to drive business development
  • Establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports, cyclical sales meetings, sales newsletters and electronic bulletins
  • To be an active member of the Sales management team and contribute to overall sales strategy and direction

Qualifications & Training:

  • Degree level preferably in a business-related subject
  • Proven track record of business development within a professional sales environment
  • Proven track record of developing and working within a high performing sales team
  • Plastics Industry/Storage experience would be high desirable but not essential.

  • Excellent business acumen with a real desire to succeed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with changing priorities
  • Able to plan and manage own time effectively
  • Demonstrate passion for the product and a desire to maintain high levels of integrity
  • Well organized, disciplined and target driven
  • A good working knowledge of Office Suite CRM systems

Salary & Benefits:

  • Up to £37,000 pa depending on experience, plus excellent commission car & company benefits
