Job Description

Overall purpose: To work alongside the Production Director booking in and managing jobs through the workshop

Main tasks:
Book jobs into the MIS system so they can be tracked through the workshop
Order materials such as paper and ink from a network of different suppliers
Deal with customer queries over the phone and via email
Organise production priority schedules with the Production Director and delegate tasks accordingly
Communicate effectively with the different print and bookbinding departments to ensure jobs are completed on time
Specify and estimate print and bookbinding specifications
Liaise with the delivery driver to plan out daily deliveries
Conduct daily Work In Progress (WIP) meetings to ensure all jobs are on schedule

Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

Good time management
Previous experience within the printing industry
Fit and healthy due to some lifting requirements
Ability to work well in a small, close-knit team

Preferred but not essential:
Previous experience of MIS systems (Experience of Optimus would be a distinct advantage)
Previous experience in customer services

Alongside these skills, the ideal candidate would also need to:
Be comfortable with starting work early. The hours would be 7:30am – 5pm with the occasional need to work overtime when facing very tight deadlines
Holiday Allowance: 25 days + standard UK bank holidays
